A lever handle or lever is a modern-day door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement doors. This style door handle is offered in a variety of designs and finishes. The spring lever design allows the handle to be set and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance over time. The sprung lever is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly beneficial in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is further back. Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles commonly found on doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC double glazing door handles glazed doors. They come in many variations & styles.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to rust. This gives the handle an outstanding performance and durability for its intended purpose.

All UPVC levers for handles include a spindle and screws and can be installed on a uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger handle, which can be beneficial when replacing a damaged or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, which solves the issue of handles hanging out of the horizontal position when they are not in use.

It is crucial to ensure that the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement can also be called 'handle centres or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the right handles.

Once you have the correct PZ size, you'll be required to make sure that the handle lever pads and push pads are a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant handles that you require for your doors. They are typically round or square, with an internal lever and an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads that we sell are sprung, meaning that they return to their horizontal position after not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. You will also find that the majority of UPVC handle lever pad style handles are hand-operated that allows you to put them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are commonly used on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of door. Cylinder locks are operated by a key which unlocks the cylinder's casing. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock and allow them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors typically requiring different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is crucial. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles receive. Doors that are external, for instance, should be fitted with higher security cylinders, whereas doors inside can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can improve security, such as anti drill or anti bump properties.

A euro door handles cylinder must be measured correctly to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. If you cannot measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can remove it. It is important to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

Most newer cylinders have been designed with bump and anti-drill features built into their design. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can help prevent attacks and keep your doors safe.

There are also cylinders that have been made to withstand snapping. This is an increasingly common kind of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is targeted using a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is faster and more straightforward than opening the door with a multipoint lock and leaves little evidence of a break-in, which could hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits inside the base of the door handle backplate, providing a spring solution and returning the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after usage. These handles used to have no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This component is the best way to fix this problem. It also prevents your upvc door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position, as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. They are not compatible with unsprung handles and you'll have to cut a hole into your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please check the image for a more detailed diagram).
