Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an attempt to return to the traditional sextet style and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloned earlier recordings.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
