Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon Brothers

Zeus is a paternal and gregarious god with an inflated self-esteem. He is cunning, superb and has a great power of leadership.

He presides over kingship as well as the sky, lightning and thunder. He also oversees the sea, earthquakes, and metals. Hades is his brother and is the ruler of the underworld.

How did they become gods?

The Greeks have created mythology rich in detail that was a blend of pre- Greek culture, pre-Greek Mediterranean beliefs and other cultures they interspersed with as they conquered and spread across their lands. This was particularly true when it came their gods. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades were often depicted with very similar personalities and stories as well as depictions. This could be because of the conventions of art or the fact that they were brothers, or because the different stories were told in distinct regions.

The first of the Olympians to take on their father Cronus was Zeus. Cronus was scared that one of Zeus brothers would take over Cronus was swallowed by Zeus and his brothers at birth. Cronus his wife Rhea was able to escape from the birth canal to save her son. Zeus was therefore the only child to live.

He is also tasked with creating life, and bringing rain to those who require it.

Zeus is the king of the heavens and is the head of the Olympian gods. He is often depicted with a beard, and tridents on his hands. He is a god of strength with a tan skin. The beard and hair of his are light brown, and his robe is loose which shows his muscular body. He prefers the trident and also has lightning bolts.

What are their powers?

Zeus and Poseidon have some commonalities However, they are distinct. They each have their own strengths and powers which allow them to fulfill their roles in the pantheon. Zeus is the king of the gods and rules the sky, whereas Poseidon is the god of the ocean, and Hades is the god of the underworld.

Both brothers can kill their foes with thunder and lightning. Both brothers can change their appearance. This lets them interact with mortals on more human level. They can also regulate weather and are extremely powerful at sea.

Hades Hades, the Greek god of the underworld, is a dark and ominous character. He isn't as warm or polite as Zeus and Poseidon and is known for his moody personality. His role is to punish the dead, but he does so with fairness and compassion. Hades is also the god of all things connected to water. Persephone is the most well-known of their tales. She was the daughter of Demeter and Zeus, and was kidnapped by Hades for him. Despite her initially reluctance, Hades fell in love with her. Hades made a bargain with her. He would let her return to his underworld if she stayed a fraction of a year with him.

This was not an easy task because Persephone became enamored of her earthly life and was incredibly hesitant to return to the realm of her father. She eventually agreed to the terms. This is the reason it was among the rare occasions when Hades was able to travel above the ground.

How do they interact with each other?

Zeus and Poseidon were two of the most powerful mythological gods. They are the children of Titan King Cronus and his wife Rhea, and they took over their fathers and became the supreme rulers of Olympus. After they split their power, they each received control over different regions of the universe. During her time spent with Demeter, she began neglecting her duties as goddess of fertility. This was arousing Hades. He decided to get her back. He tricked her into changing into the form of a dirty cuckoo. Knowing her sympathy for animals he held the bird to her breast and she fell in love. He then returned to his original form and Oscarreys mated with her.

After the wedding, Hades was a loving husband and father to their three children. However, he was still uneasy about his place on Mount Olympus. He wanted to be the focal point for a moment. He suggested to the gods of other gods that he raise hell to earth. After a long discussion they finally came to an agreement.

While Hestia is an eminent goddess of peace, her task is to keep the other Olympians in check. She is also the patron goddess of marriage and takes particular care of married women. She was a pious lady but she had several relationships with Zeus, the husband of her sister. She had children both with mortals and nymphs, including Triton and Theseus.
