Find a model with an excellent all-terrain capability, solid suspension and big puncture-proof wheels but designed in a more traditional pushchair design with reversible seats and the option of a full carrycot.

The UPPAbaby's bestselling Ridge all-terrain pushchair is an excellent example of this; it offers excellent suspension, a simple fold and a huge 10kg basket but also has features for parents that are child-friendly, like an adjustable handlebar, hand-operated brake on the right and a huge covered storage space. A hood that can be removed and cleaned with cool soapy water is a useful feature that can help prevent mildew and mould from forming.

If you're planning on driving your all-terrain pushchair off road it's best to opt for air-filled tyres rather than those with grips made of rubber. They will provide a smoother ride on rough ground and are easier to maneuver in tight spaces. If you are planning to use your all-terrain pushchair to do occasional jogging, be sure the front wheel can pivot or has a quick release feature to ensure it is locked in place to provide more stability.

To keep the fabrics in perfect condition, it's important to ensure that they can be machine-washed. If not, spot cleaning with warm water and a little of mild soap will suffice. Drying the fabric thoroughly outdoors will also help prevent mildew and mould from forming.
