Since this refrigerator costs a premium, I expect better.

This fridge is a good choice, despite the blip. It features a large freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth french style fridge freezer non plumbed-door fridges. It also holds plenty of frozen food compared to other models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about par for a French door refrigerator that costs this much. It has a decent sized freezer in the left side. However, it's not the largest one I've seen.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill which is a feature available in a handful of GE refrigerators that allows users to choose the amount of cups they wish to disperse. The fridge shows a countdown to show you how much water is left but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It's designed to appear like it's a seamless part in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher longer and has dual compressors for the best food preservation. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient, and it produces an ice pyramid with only a little water. This refrigerator is the ideal option for a single family or kitchenettes looking for a built-in look and top of the line food preservation.

This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never moving by more than a fraction a degree--this is key to avoiding freezing burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, reaching the desired temperature for initial set within an hour and maintaining the temperature constant over the course of our tests.

The fridge has the standard French door design, with two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to make space for taller items. You'll also find a full width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the best features of this refrigerator is that its Ice maker is located in the freezer, which makes it easy to move the ice to the refrigerator for use when required. The freezer also comes with thoughtful design features, like sliding drawers that allow you to organize your belongings. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's a nice way to control and monitor your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't improve the performance of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill food in this refrigerator as compared to other fridges we test. This could be due to its greater capacity.

Another issue with the door of this refrigerator. The handles that are sunken allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However taller people have a hard time closing them without slamming them. It would have been more effective if these had front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent option for those looking to blend the look of a french door fridge freezer with water and ice dispenser door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It's also a bit cheaper than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which makes it an attractive choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a great choice for those looking for a French-door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It's a basic refrigerator that might not be as eye-catching like some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make it a an excellent choice. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food items like vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. The drawer lets you redirect some of the fridge's cooling power to this area, so it can be used to store food items that require extra attention. You can alter the feature using a slider that's located right in the middle of the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the general settings work better than the specific ones.

In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but it does not quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also combine this fridge with a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of your fridge's internal temperature.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey body with a "smudge-proof" finish. It repels fingerprints and streaks better than other stainless steel finishes I've seen.
