World of Warcraft Upgrades and
Item UpgradingUpgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instancethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the
item upgrade using less Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.
In the endgame you'll find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the many Glyphs, and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs You will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is
Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The
item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from completing
Upgrade Item Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When the player upgrades the equipment they have, the base item will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This can be a downside, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state and the player having to spend additional materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like crit chance, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to carry each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
