World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will increase 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to
upgrade item non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level with normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player can have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a substantial risk that the item may be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.
You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is best to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the
item upgrades.
When a player upgrades an item it will be replaced with a new item. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a problem in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is very important in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you
upgrade item an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go back to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like chances to be crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an
item upgrader kit is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs listed above.
