Pokemon GO upgrade items (internet) and Components

An upgrade item is a unique item that makes certain Pokemon develop. The upgrade can be obtained by spinning a PokeStop's photo disc and can be given as a reward at Pokemon GO events.

Upgrade components

Most upgrade components can be replaced when they are slotted into an item, but doing so destroys the previous upgrade. The exceptions are glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and enchantments, which can be removed and reinserted freely.

Insignias and enchantments will show their name in the hover display of the item while prefix and suffix upgrades will add their name to the end of the name of the equipment (e.g. an Radiant Insignia on Tyrian Armor would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components that have been added to an equipment piece will be displayed in the tooltip for the item level upgrade.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be added into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements, such as ligatures, fractions, ornaments, swashes registered trademark symbols, and ellipses. The Glyphs Panel allows you to insert and view these special characters as well as regular symbols like em and en dashes as as registered trademark symbols.

Each Glyph provides a character with a boost in their primary stats. The glyph could also be equipped with up to four secondary stats which will influence its radius on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a %-increase that is multiplied after other bonuses have been applied in addition to Speed Glyphs which directly increase the hero's speed.

Selecting the Glyphs and clicking "enchant" will activate them. This will bring up a window that displays the Glyphs that are available to you. You only need to apply the correct Glyph to the selected item. Every weapon or armor piece has its own collection of Glyphs.

Glyphs can be leveled up through the use of Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult a Dungeon is, the greater Glyph experience you will gain. Once a Glyph is at level 15 and is upgraded, it is upgradeable at the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board grows by one node each 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.

Once a Glyph is leveled up to the desired level, you can activate it by selecting it, then clicking the "enchant" button. The Glyph you create will provide its stated bonus, and also increase the number of nodes within its area on the Paragon Board. It's crucial to place glyphs in the Best item upgrade locations to benefit your game, which is why it's a good idea to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Rare glyphs could also provide double bonus when certain conditions are satisfied.

If you're having trouble finding a particular glyph click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to display the panel in a number of different views. Each view shows the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow down the selection of glyphs by selecting an option under "Entire Font". For example, punctuation only displays punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limits the options to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling
