The Canasta
The game of Canasta is a part of the Rummy family of card games, became a popular pastime in America during the 1950s. The object of the card game is to make melds (three cards or more of the same rank) and canastas (seven or more cards). The larger the meld the more points you will earn. Wildcards are jokers and 2s. A meld must have at minimum two natural cards to be valid. The game is won by the first team to reach 5,001 points.
Canasta was invented by Segundo Santos and Alberto Serrato in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1939, while playing cards with their friends. They wanted to develop an alternative game for card players that was more time-efficient than Bridge, and less reliant on luck than Rummy. Canasta is a card game that incorporates elements of Bridge, Rummy, and Conquan.
Each player is dealt 13 cards which are separated into two piles, the foot and hand. Each player must then arrange at least three cards into columns. These are called sets. A set consists of three or more identical cards, such as four Kings or three Fives. When a set is completed, the player has to discard one card to the discard pile.
The Chilada
Chilada is a Mexican dish which is made by wrapping a tortilla around other foods like meat, cheese or vegetables. It is usually smothered in sauce and served with cheese. There are many variations on this dish and ingredients can be combined and matched to create different recipes. Enchiladas are a traditional Mexican dish, and can be prepared using either corn or flour-based tortillas.
It's time to forgo the margarita and opt for one of two refreshing low-alcohol beer drinks that are authentic to Mexico - the Chelada (cerveza preparada) or Michelada. Both are made with lime juice salt, and a light lager. The chilada is traditionally is served without ice with Tajin or a coarse salt used to rim the glass. The chelada does not contain tomato juice, clam liquid, sauces, or salsas. It is a variant of the michelada.
The
chiminea fire pit made of clay is available in soft colors and features honeycomb patterns that are unique. The chiminea is offered in two pieces and includes a removable chimney cover and stand. Enhanced iron decorative elements accent the base and stack of this model.
The Blue Tornado
Ceramic chimineas are more compact than outdoor fireplaces and can be moved around the patio to suit the mood or the weather. Their broad bases taper to a chimney, and they have unique features like a honeycomb pattern crossed on the bowl and stack. They also have the ability to divert smoke away from your backyard and into the air.
The Blue Tornado, an ape-like superhero who appears on the show and has weather-based abilities, was first spotted by Kaz and Oliver when they visited Mighty Med. He is a tall, blue-clad guy with the appearance of a tornado over his head.
This technique is able to suck enemies off their feet, and then throws them into the air, making them vulnerable for a few seconds. This is especially effective on Egg Pawns that aren't protected, Egg Knights and opposing playable characters who are wearing shields.
Blue Tornado can also be used to gain additional height when used against airborne enemies. In addition holding it during or after the move enables the participant to perform a double jump. This move will knock shields off enemies who aren't wearing them. This is a fantastic way to quickly take down larger enemies. It's also great to eliminate flying enemies because the Blue Tornado can disrupt their flight patterns and make it easier to take them down.
The Honeycomb
A
terracotta chiminea is a perfect option for outdoor spaces that have smaller space than a traditional full-size fireplace. Its broad base tapers off into a narrow chimney and some designs have handcrafted detailing to elevate the appearance of your patio.
Chimineas can add warmth and ambience to any backyard, whether it's on a sunny summer evening or a cool autumn day.
Honeycomb is a delicious wonder of nature made by honeybees. It's a hexagonal shape made of beeswax that is perfectly structured. It's also one of the most useful components of the hive. Honeycomb structures are used in a myriad of engineering and scientific fields.
The hive uses honeycomb for three reasons: it's a nursery for new bees and a storage area for pollen until it is transformed into "bee bread," and a long-term place for the hive's reserve of nectar. When a hive swarms the bees start the process of creating a new hive by using honeycomb as a foundation.
Bees build honeycombs by vibrating their flight muscles to generate heat. This softens the beeswax plates they expel from their abdominals. They then shape the softened wax into cylinder shapes and connect them to adjacent cells on either side. This arrangement is extremely constant, indicating that it is not merely the result of random physical forces but a highly structured pattern of construction behavior. It's also a striking example of convergent evolutionary - an example of convergent evolution where a similar feature emerges independently in closely related species.
The Footsteps
Footsteps is the only organization in North America that supports people who have left or are thinking of leaving the ultra-Orthodox community in which they live in order to live their own lives. Through our staff- and peer-led programs, we offer a safe and stabilizing space as our members shift from a world that was planned for them to one that is full of possibilities.
We envision a future that people who leave religious communities that are insular can lead fulfilled life-styles that are independent and integrated. Your gift at the end of the year will help us make this happen by providing education scholarships, microgrants and career support for those who are relocating away from an ultra-Orthodox life. Thank you for your generosity. Your donations are tax-deductible. Please check out our Privacy Policy to learn more.
