Combi Single Stroller Review

Design

The initial look of this stroller is nice and its unique folding mechanism is intriguing, but that's about it. In tests it did not perform as well as its competitors and offered nothing spectacular in the way of return. It only holds one car seat, so it's not the ideal option for twins. The padding is also not sufficient to ensure a comfortable ride. It's heavy and awkward to maneuver, and even though it does have storage, it's not very large and difficult to access.

The frame of the Combi Twin Cosmo has many connections and parts which makes it appear less expensive than its competitors which have frames that are made of less pieces that are welded, instead of riveted. The backs of the seats do not lie flat against the frame when it's collapsed. It has a decent weight capacity and is easier to fit into a trunk than some of its competitors, however the size could cause problems with public transportation as it's likely not to be able to conform to any rules for 2'X4' that apply there.

The Combi Twin Cosmo scored well in our tests of maneuverability despite its size and weight. It took just 25 pounds to tip the Combi Twin Cosmo backwards which is higher than the majority of competitors. However, it isn't the best lightweight single stroller performer in this metric that is the Chariot Cougar 2

The wide rear wheels can be locked to enhance maneuverability. The single fold pushchair step brake pedal locks and unlocks both rear wheels simultaneously which is nice for parking in tight spaces and parking. A cup holder for parents, large basket and canopy pocket offer storage space but this is minimal when compared to other products.

There's small storage space located on the back of the canopy, but it's too small to be useful to store larger items such as diaper bags and grocery bags. Two cup holders are included however they're too close to each other to be useful for sharing drinks. The canopy provides decent sun protection with a three panel sunshade that blocks more than 99 percent of UV radiation.

Comfort

A key component of strollers is the ability to sit children in a comfortable place. This stroller has a reclining seat and a large canopy that extends all the way to the back. The canopy also houses a cup holder for the parent, as well as additional storage. This stroller has an adjustable telescoping bar that allows for easy maneuvering, and it can be parked in tight spots.

This stroller scored well in our quality measure, but it failed to impress in other categories. It was the stroller that had the highest flex when pushed and its connector points were constructed of plastic, not soft materials like the other strollers. The wheels were very flexible and could be difficult to maneuver on uneven surfaces.

It has good maneuverability but this is offset by its weight and size. It required more effort to push it, and this could be difficult for parents of smaller children to do on a regular basis. It is able to easily navigate narrow doors and aisles, but it may be difficult to fit in an elevator with a lot of people.

The storage area under the seat is small and was a disappointment for testers. The storage space was difficult to access and there is a bar that stops larger items from fitting. A diaper bag filled with two children's supplies was not able to fit and an ordinary purse could have a problem with the storage space. The extra pockets in the canopy are a nice touch but they are not enough to compensate for this poor under seat storage space.

The stroller's unique fold and carry strap makes it a great option for transporting it to and from public transportation. However, the bulky stroller can make it difficult to fit into the crowded trains and buses without hitting innocent bystanders. This stroller is ideally suited to commuters, who can easily carry it inside their car. It's lightweight enough to carry it up stairs and down escalators. However, it must be folded down to carry buses or trains.
