A good suspension with air-filled tires will allow you to navigate the rough terrain. It's also suitable for jogging but you must wait until your baby is six or nine months old before doing this.

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is an excellent option for parents looking for a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. The travel system includes a carrycot that is flat for newborns and a multi-position rear and forward facing seat for a three wheeler pushchair.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to understand why it has received such high marks from customers. It is incredibly lightweight with the chassis and wheels weigh only 6.5kg. It is extremely easy to put together. I was able to get it up and running in just five minutes. This is amazing considering that it includes attaching fabric for the carrycot.

It has a nice, wide seat that is comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months) and the recline lever is easy to operate. There's a good amount of room inside the basket, and I love the fact that it comes with a zip-up pocket in the handle bar so that you can keep your phone and keys secure!

The only slight downside is that the handlebar is quite low, which can be a problem for taller parents. But, it's covered in a lovely leather-like material that's soft and comfortable, and it wipes down easily, meaning it's still easy to push with bags and children on your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is designed for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the go. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on field and forest paths and the front wheel can be rotated and locked to give you more flexibility. The stroller comes with a 5-point safety harness with a front bar that keeps your child secure on every trip. The parking brake keeps the stroller stationary while you rest. The seat can be repositioned to lay down and the canopy can be opened for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30 cm to accommodate dad or mum's heights.

Whether you're going for a quick jog or a hike that lasts a while The Runner will be there to accompany you on your journeys with a reclining, fully-flat seat and suspension air wheels that promise a bump-free ride. The front 3 wheel running buggy can be locked for more stability when walking on narrow streets or busy sidewalks. It's the latest - and priciest - version of their bargain light stroller collection. It's also, like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo it's car seat-compatible so you can use it from the beginning (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace boasts some fantastic design features, including the rose gold hue to the chassis, hood and stroller trims, which make it stand out from its competition. The grey, tan and cream fabrics on the stroller and the car seat are super fashionable and there's the option of adding the handle for the cover and bumper bar as well.

The stroller seat is used from birth up to a maximum weight of 22kg. It easily converts to a two-in-one reversible position, either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat has several lie-back positions, plus comfortable padded leg rests, and an extendable sun canopy with zip-off sections that are concealed with a view-through flap, and retractable visor.

When folded when folded, the Pace measures 56 33cm x 43cm x 32cm which allows it to be used as hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. It's also a breeze to fold down, using two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side that you can click into and then pop out.

I tried it out with my two children one of whom is eight weeks old and the other toddler - on rocky pavements along with grassy wooded trails and even cobblestones.

The wheels that are puncture-proof are large with a diameter of 22cm and 30cm therefore they are able to handle all kinds of terrain. The wheels come with an opening that can be shut or opened to let air in when needed. It's a bit larger than some pushchairs, but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when pushing over bumpy surfaces.

The fabric of the seat can be machine washed and the faux leather frame and grips are easy to clean. It is also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt at ease using it in busy city streets. It has built-in accessory points, so you can attach parasols and footmuffs as well as changing bags, snack trays, and even snack tray. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, but it's not particularly waterproof. The single pram can be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) which allows your child more leg room. It took about 20 minutes to assemble the bassinet, and a similar amount of time to convert it to the seat.
