Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's custom coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique key case to commemorate the brand's centennial. It is made of Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying 'B' paperweight, a set keys bentley and a brochure featuring never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

Aesthetics

As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. It is evident in the precise placement of its quilting, the use of leather derived from products of cattle, the wood from sustainably-managed forests, and the unique patterns of its levers. As you approach a vehicle like the Continental GT W12, its beautiful sculptural design is highlighted by carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever built. Its rear tonneau, as an instance, displayed the largest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this unique design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that have established Bentley as the most sought-after automobile brand. The company continues pushing boundaries with the latest technologies and craftsmanship. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear window sunroof, as well as a custom-designed Apple iPad docking station.

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, one hundred years after it was established. Design

A customized heating, air conditioning and ventilation system has been developed to provide each passenger with the ideal climate control setting.

The Mulsanne is equipped with twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine with 560bhp and 479lb-ft torque. This incredible power is enhanced by a new suspension architecture that delivers Bentley's hushed, quiet ride.

Bentley has introduced a special specification for cars manufactured after 2019 to celebrate its centennial. This is called the Centenary Specification. This includes contrast stitching and cross-stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered with Centenary Gold, adding to the feeling of celebration. A bespoke Bentley key case is included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key features buttons that open the trunk and a second button that can start the car. The key also has a button to turn on the parking brake. There is a knob that can fold and unfold the mirrors while parking in tight spaces. This feature helps you get into and out of your vehicle.

Each key bentley takes about two days to make. It is hand cut and shaped, then sewn, sealed and polished to create the highest-quality finish. It is sturdy and compact, and will fit the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to that of the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however, it feels heavier and has a luxurious feel.

Secure-A-Key is also available to help stop keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob, and is turned off after a few minutes of inactivity, preventing thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices that can unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive design reflects the company's values of fine craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and modern technology. Personalisation

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own vehicle. Every time a choice is made, the pattern that emerges shows the model of the Bentley, as well as the color and style preferences for the personalized Bentley.

The guests are given the keys in a case designed by hand, which contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can be equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the way of the opening door with the owner's logo or name as they approach the car.

Bentley estimates that it takes about 500 man-hours to build and put together the Mulsanne. The unwillingness to embrace modern technology is the primary factor to this lengthy and laborious process. Instead of employing a machine for spacers to the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of using the car's built-in sensors guide it to parallel and perpendicular parking spaces, drivers have to do it manually.

Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization skills with an exclusive Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays homage to the William Osler, the founder of Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays tribute to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The limited-edition cars come with one key that features a slice of the 1930 8 Litre's crankshaft.
