If you're looking for more flexibility, consider a dual-mode convertible like the iCandy Peach. This is a narrow double buggy which can accommodate 2 children side by side, but it can also be used as a tandem by the addition of a second seat kit and rider board. It's nimble and agile, and our testers were impressed by its sleek design. It's not as light as the other pushchairs on our list however, it comes with an enormous shopping basket that is handy for parents carrying bags of toys and groceries.

Lightweight

Some parents prefer to secure their cheap double buggy pushchair if they have one child and are expecting another and a convertible model is a great option. The iCandy Peach can be converted from a single pushchair into double with the addition of a toddler's seat, or the brand's carrycot (which works well for overnight sleeping). Our testers noted how comfortable the seats are and adore the fact that they both recline to multiple positions, feature built-in leg and foot supports and generous UPF 50+ canopies with peekaboo windows. The rear seat can also be lifted high to offer a standing platform for a child to climb off and on so that they can reach items in the shopping basket.

Cher said that the only downside of the iCandy Peach was its weight. However, she believed this was offset by the fact that it is easy to maneuver and comes with plenty of storage space with two cup holders for parents and their children as well as seat-back pockets and an enormous basket underneath the seat. She also appreciated the fact that the seats are adjustable, meaning they can be placed to face one another for siblings who wish to talk and get together when out and out and about.

A lighter and equally impressive choice is the Delta Children LX side-by-side stroller that weighs just 18 pounds, is extremely compact and features an auto-standing fold that makes it easy to transport and store in your trunk or at home. Parents appreciate the quality of the materials and craftsmanship as well as the price is low. The only downsides are that the seats don't recline as much compared to other models we've tested and the rear seat is not as visible due to its location as it is higher than the seat in front.

The Joolz Geo 3 is another popular option. It's slim, sleek, and easy to steer and comes with a lifetime warranty.
