Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors usually having different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is crucial. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. For instance, exterior doors require an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can increase security, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder needs to be properly measured to ensure that it is the right size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, when this isn't possible, you can remove it to measure. It is essential to not have a extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.
